Obituary of Hobart "Ray" Roache

Hobart “Ray” Roache of Clio and Benzonia MI, born Nov. 11, 1928 to James and Maxie Roache in Roda Va, died Jan. 27, 2021. Ray was originally from Big Stone Gap, VA prior to employment with Buick as a Set-Up Man, who retired after 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, most outdoor activities and watching the Tigers and Lions.

 

Ray was preceded in death by his wife Naomi and son James Roache, close friend Bonnie King, 3 siblings Robert, Ralph, and Laura, his parents James and Maxie (Upchurch) Roache.

 

Surviving are 2 daughters, Jill Hicks (Walter, deceased), Cathy Clark (David), grandchildren Dwight Hicks (Nadine), David Hicks (Genise), Leslie Hicks, Justin Clark (Lindsay), David Clark, Jr (Alice), Amanda Roache, and Amy Roache-Fedchenko (Nick) as well as many great grandchildren.

 

Graveside services will be at Morning Star Cemetery, Church Hill TN, Friday Feb 5, 2021 at 1pm with Pastor Greg Fletcher officiating. Donations may be made to the DNR Game and Fish Protection Trust Fund, made out to the “State of Michigan”, with a notation “Donated in Memory of Ray Roache” and mailed to: Cashiers Office, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, PO Box 30451, Lansing, MI 48909-7951.
