Obituary of Shelia Faye Stanley

Shelia Faye Stanley, a lifelong resident of Duffield, VA, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home with her family by her side on Wednesday, March, 17, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 68 years.

Shelia devoted her life to her children.  After her children were grown, she worked outside the home for Buster Brown Apparel as a Seamstress.   She became a registered Certified Nursing Assistant, and she took great pride in assisting others.    She deeply loved the Lord.   Shelia had an infectious smile which would brighten any room she walked into.  We know heaven shines brighter with her in it.   She is singing Karaoke in Beulah Land with her best friend Connie Hensley.    

Along with her parents Henry Kelly and Georgia Kate Vaughn Minton; brother Carol “Spider” Minton; she is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Ronnie William Stanley. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, John Henry Stanley of Duffield, VA and daughter, Julie La-Dawn Miller (Richard) and grand-dog Bella of Church Hill, TN;  two brothers, Gerald (Jeanette) and Terry Minton;  sisters, Lenora (Tom) Hamm, Joanie Minton, Fern Maness, Sherry (Lambert) Clagett and Shanda Seal “her twin sister”; along with many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly as well as lots of dear friends that Mom considered family.  Know that she loved you all. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Cox’s Chapel Cemetery in Duffield, VA with Pastor Joe Roberts officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50pm.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice of Kingsport, TN for their care and compassion. As well as a special thank you to Michelle Coffman, Patsy Mosley, and Rebecca.   You were true blessings.
