Obituary of Myron Timothy "Tim" Sumner

Myron Timothy “Tim” Sumner 62, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Friday, April, 23, 2021 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Tim was known for his carpentry work and enjoyed making model cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, David Rudolph and Lavada Sumner; infant brother, Jeffrey Sumner; sister-in-law, Linda Ryan.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sumner; son, Timothy Sumner; daughter, Angel Turbyfill; step-daughters, Jamie Cox, Brabara Strickland, Laura Clark, and Autumn Baker; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, Todd Sumner and wife Angie, Danny Sumner and wife Teresa and Larry Sumner; sister, Cheryl Doran; half-brothers, Sherwin Sumner and Ricky Sumner; half-sister, Lita Sumner; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 6pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport.

 A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Hermon UMC Cemetery with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
