Obituary of Joe Hagan Salyer

Joe Hagan Salyer, 87, of Weber City, VA, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 .

Joe was born in Scott County, VA on May 18, 1934, a son of the late Carson E. Salyer and Hesba (Bright) Salyer.  He was retired from Roberts Tire and Recapping in Weber City, VA after over 40 years of service.  Joe was a veteran of the US Army.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Todd Salyer, brother, Toby Salyer, sister, Janie Lawson; brother-in-law, Roy Reed;  sister-in-law, Joanne Shoemaker.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Salyer, Weber City, VA;  son, Mark Salyer and wife Tammy, Gate City, VA;  step-daughter, Tina Roberts, Kingsport, TN;  grandsons, Travis Salyer, Gate City, VA and Devin Salyer;  granddaughters, Caitie Salyer, Gate City, VA, Allie Edwards and husband Matt, Weber City, VA;  step-grandson, Timothy Rhoton, Rogersville, TN; sisters, Jeanetta Williams Eaton and husband Carl, Kingsport, TN, Joyce Faust and husband Jerry, Church Hill, TN, Jewel Lawson and husband Rick, Mt Carmel, TN, Kay Williams, Gate City, VA; brothers-in-law, Tommy Reed and wife Debbie, Gray, TN, Allen Reed and wife Letha, Gate City, VA, Ronnie Reed and wife Kathy, Church Hill, TN; and Johnny Shoemaker;  sister-in-law, Gaynell Reed, Surgoinsville, TN;  several nieces and nephews.

Joe wishes were to be cremated.  Celebration of Life services will be announced at a later date.
