Obituary of Ronald D. Burke

Ronald D. Burke, 84, of Gate City, VA (Daniel Boone Community) passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his home.

Ronald was born on November 9, 1936 in Scott County, VA, a son of the late William Ervin Burke and Nannie Ruth (Diamond) Burke.

He retired from Holston Defense in 1992 after 30 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Fuller Burke;  sons, Ronald Alan Burke;  David Scott Burke and wife Suzy;  Grandchildren, Kellie Rose and husband Richard,  Katie Strahl, and Keener Burke and wife Julie;  Great-Grandchildren, Carter Rose, Dylan Rose and Beckham Strahl;  sisters, Opal Duncan and husband Johnny, Joyce Head and husband Jerry, and Nancy Burke;  several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA with a eulogy by Kellie Rose and Rev. Riley Boy will officiate.

Family and friends are asked to assemble at 1:45 PM at the cemetery for the services.

Pallbearers will be Dale Byrd, Richard Rose, Mike Edwards, Phil Head, Terry Duncan and Jody Hammonds.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Caris Hospice for their loving care.
