Obituary of Fred Allen Vaughn

Kingsport - Fred Allen Vaughn, 90 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Kingsport, attended Sevier Junior High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Fred was a member of the VFW and American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. He was a skilled carpenter and a retired truck driver. Fred was of the Baptist faith.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, June Miller Vaughn; son, Anthony Vaughn; parents, Emory and Bernice Carter Vaughn.

 

Fred is survived by his daughter, Darlene Baker (Timothy); son, Jeffrey Vaughn (Angie); 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home.

 

A funeral service will follow at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Phil Kestner officiating.

 

A military graveside service will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park with American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 conducting the rites. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
