Obituary of Karen Monteene Haddock

Karen Monteene Haddock, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Karen Monteene was born in  Glenwood, Arkansas. Karen was the daughter of the late Eric Simmons and Blanch Simmons Herber.

Karen played the violin, piano, upright bass, accordion, and xylophone. In addition to playing music, she loved to sing, and her alto voice was surprisingly powerful and moving, beautiful and warm. Karen loved to read and if the book was good, she enjoyed reading it again.

Karen was a born-again Christian who loved God with all of her heart. She was faithful with tithing and giving to those in need. She was loving and showed kindness to all those around her. She would do anything for her family. Karen also loved to travel and traveled to many countries.

Karen retired from Aerospace after 20 years. She started working there in an entry level position and worked her way to the position of Human Resource Manager. In addition to the career that she maintained she was also a schoolteacher, licensed Chaplin, minister of music, Sunday school teacher, and Pentecostal minister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husbands: Edward Hastain, Vernon Simpson and Harold Haddock; brother: Melborn Simmons; sister: Lou Ella Vaughn; and one son: Theron Paul Hastain.

Those left to cherish and carry on her memory are her children: Daughter Karen Hastain Crise and Son-in-law Paul Crise, Son Thomas Hastain and Daughter-in-law Gail Hastain, Daughter-in-law Angela Hastain wife to deceased Son Paul Hastain, Son Nicholas Hastain and Daughter-in-law Susan Hastain; grandchildren: Joshua Crise and wife Kathy, Eric Crise, Nicole Crise Cruze and husband Paul, Thomas Hastain Jr, Travis Hastain and wife Semi, Aubrey Rhodes, Jared Hastain and wife Heather, Amber Hastain, Breann Hastain Workman and husband Dan, Tyler Hastain, Alex Hastain, Joseph Hastain, Nicholas Hastain II and wife Alisa, Sydney Hastain, Madison Hastain and Morgan Hastain; great grandchildren: Cassidy Crise, Amelia Crise, Kylee Crise, Kevin Crise, Cory Cruze, Jesse Cruze, Isaiah Cruze, Travis Hastain Jr., Stella Hastain, Adam Hastain, Elijah Hastain, Daniel Workman, Dayton Workman, Damon Workman, and Andrea Workman; and Siblings: Euclid Simmons and wife Hazel. Several Nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery District, 2023 CA-99, Gridley, CA.
