Obituary of Margaret Ellen Ray

Kingsport – Margaret Ellen Southerland Ray, 95 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Indian Path Community Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Morristown, TN and had lived in Kingsport for most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Ray; sons, Robert E. Ray and James Roy Ray; parents, Jessie and Willie Southerland; daughter, Betty Ann Quesenberry; grandson, Mark Ray.

Margaret is survived by her son, Dean Ray and wife Linda; granddaughter, Melinda Ray; step-grandchildren, Lisa Moody, Lori Bateman, Leslie Manis and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 pm Thursday, January 6, 2022 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 pm.
