Obituary of Thelma Kathleen Dulaney

Life Story

 

Thelma K. Dulaney passed from Life to her Eternal Reward on Thursday, February 24, 2022. She was born in Hawkins Co. to the late Fred and Effie Mae Leeper. Thelma spent most of her life in Florida and Knoxville, Tn. She was a devoted Mother, Sister, and Aunt and loved her family very much. While living in Church Hill, she attended Lyons Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church where she was a strong supporter. Thelma loved to cook and one of her favorite things to do was make apple butter for her friends.

 

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by brothers, Fred, Kenneth, Clay Sr. and Miller Leeper; Sisters, Margaret Watterson, Lula Kyle, Gaither Maxwell; and her good friend and father of her children, Walter Dulaney, Sr.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory, Daughters, Angela Dulaney Brown, Lorraine Dulaney Greenlee (James), and Tracy Dulaney; Son, Chris Dulaney; Bonus children, Kellie Dulaney Kennedy and Walter Dulaney Jr.; Sisters, Zeola Leeper, Church Hill, TN and Louise Washington, California. A very special Friend, Richard Ford; Grandchildren, Chassity, Jordan, Edras, Taylor, Kennedi, Courtney, and Josiah, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Thelma will lie in state from 2-5 pm Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill.

 

A graveside service will be held at 12 pm on Monday at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:45 am.
