Vickie & Stan,
I had the privilege of being your aunt Carolyn and your mom’s neighbor for many years. Your mom was a special person and a sweetheart. Always complementing, always ready for a conversation. I enjoyed our conversations, her smile, and laughter. Pat took so much pride in how she looked – make-up on, every hair in place, stylish, and immaculate. Even her vehicle was always washed, shiny, and immaculate. When not in use, she covered it to keep it that way and for protection. After her stroke, one truly saw her determination to not only survive but to be independent and live life to the utmost.
It was obvious Pat loved you both so much by the sound in her voice and the smile on her face as she spoke of the two of you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Cathy Salley

Thank you for sharing your momma with me! I am blessed to have been able to call her my best friend! She taught me how to make a bed “properly” and prayed the sweetest prayers. There wasn’t a time I was with her that she didn’t remind me “one day at a time sweet Jesus”
I am going to miss her words of wisdom, Chick-fil-A dates and making her chocolate chip cookies!
Love you all
Stephanie

We Love you Stephanie, and are so very thankful for you and your love for our mother.
She loved going out with you, and those Chick-fil-A sandwiches you treated her to. And she enjoyed being around your children.
Can never thank you enough for everything you did for her.

Pat Was a wonderful friend to me when I was the Coordinator at MyRide Kingsport. She was one the most Godly I have ever met. Her prayers were so enlightening. No one was to call unless it was an emergency in the evening because Sweet Pat was talking to “her Jesus.” Each week we would eat Arby’s and visit. Her house was alway immaculate. As I put her groceries away, she would follow me around because things had to be in order. It wasn’t because she was being bossy. The reason was because she worked so hard to be independent and it had to be where things were easy for to pick up with one had. Everyone should follow Pat’s determination. When we were talking, she never missed a time to tell me when she met her Jesus, “oh what a day that will be.” Pat’s smile said it all. Her children meant the world to her. I’m blessed to have known Pat and call her my friend!

Vickie and Stan-
My thoughts are with you at this time. I remember how gracious your mother was when as a youngster, I’d arrive at your house and invariably overstay my visit. Patsy always welcomed me. Scruffy found a good home with you, especially under the loving care of your mother. He was one lucky terrier. As Bo shared, she raised two upstanding children. My best to you both.

I appreciate the kind words Jane! Stan and I have talked about how fortunate we were
to be a part of such a wonderful group of neighborhood kids. Many happy memories on Douglas Drive, we hold dear. Yes, Scruffy had no trouble warming up my mom and dad’s heart.

Dear Vicki and Stan,
I'm thinking of you both right now as I remember your mother. Vicki, I'm thinking about how smart you are, how one day when you were no more than 10 and I was 12 we discussed 2001: A Space Odyssey and it was a very insightful conversation--I still remember it clearly, warm spring day, my back yard. And Stan, I'm thinking about how determined and committed you were to the neighborhood games, though you were several years younger than the rest of us and often got knocked on your butt by the bigger kids--you always came back, my friend, and I always admired you for it.
I think your mom raised two incredible people. I'm so glad I knew you. And I won't forget you. All my best to you both.

Ah Leigh, you will always be Bo to us! As I can speak for Vickie as well, the childhood memories on Douglas Drive were the best. Me, being the youngest of the kids, you always looked after me, included me in all the festivities of the
neighborhood. You were my other big sister! Always admired you for how good you were at…well,…..Everything! Thank you for your post and the great memories. Ok, one last time, let’s all meet, 7:00 pm George’s front yard for a game of 52 All Scatter! Lol

Pat was a long-time financial and prayer supporter of my son, Brett Flora, when he entered the mission field to do church planting in Maryland. I know that many times she sacrificed to continue supporting Brett and his family and I am forever grateful to her for that! She was a true servant of Christ! Thoughts and prayers for all who loved her!

So sorry to know Pat has now passed but also rejoicing because we know where she has gone. She was my friend and sister in Christ, and always smiling with positive words. May God bless and keep you loved ones in this time of mourning.
