Obituary of Mary Frances Sexton
Mary Frances Sexton, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born to the late J.C. and Nora Barrett Goad.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband of 42 years, Cecil J. Sexton; brothers, James “Jim” Goad and William “Bill” Goad; and sisters, Paula “Polly” Luster, Betty Sue Phillips, and Juanita (Pood) Kern.
She leaves behind a host of loved ones to carry on her legacy. Among them are her daughters, Christine “Crickett” Manis (Tony), Christie Mauk (Shannon); brother, Bobby Goad (Nancy); granddaughters, Kelli Russell (Cruz), Tiffany Elliot (Tom); great grandchildren, Bryson Russell, Braxton Russell, Blake Elliot, and Ava Elliott; good friend and sister-in-law, Nancy Pendergrass; “adopted” daughter, Tammy “Little Bit” Bruner; and special friends, Nancy Barrett and Diane Overbey. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also remain.
The family will receive friends at the residence any time prior to the services on Wednesday. A visitation will be held at Carter Trent Funeral home-Church Hill on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 5:00-7:00pm. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 7:00pm with Pastor, Dan Dolen officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Bowser’s Cemetery at 11:00am. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Carter-Trent Funeral Home- Church Hill at 10:15 to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be Cruz Russell, Tom Elliot, P.J. Bruner, Paul Bruner, Jehovah Barrett, and Rick Sexton, with Jim Goad serving as an honorary pallbearer.
