Obituary of Steven Doyle Griffin

Kingsport – Steven Doyle Griffin, 56 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Norton, VA he had lived in Kingsport for most of his life. He worked as an equipment operator prior to his illness. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Griffin.

Steve is survived by his wife of 22 years, Carol Parris Griffin; mother, Brenda Powers Griffin; daughter, Cheri Griffin; sons, Stephen Kyle Griffin and Stephen Ray Griffin; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Kimberly Ramey; special friend, Dusty Dean; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6 pm Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Sargent officiating.
