Obituary of Jacqueline Denise Harris

Jacqueline Denise Harris was born on April 3, 1952, in the District of Columbia to the late John and Constance Harris.  Jacqueline (Jackie) relinquished her spirit to rest in God’s heavenly home on November 8th.

 

Her youth was spent in Glenarden Woods, MD where she was educated in the public-school system.  After graduating from DuVal High School, she worked several jobs and finally started working in the Federal government at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where she retired in 2011.  She has one son, Michael-John.

 

While living in Glenarden Woods, as a child she attended Saint Joseph Catholic Church.  Jacqueline attended and later joined Shiloh Baptist Church of Landover in 1985, where she was an active member.  She was a member of the Ushers Ministry, Vacation Bible School Ministry, Sunday School Ministry for over 20 years, Women’s Day Choirs, and was a member of Circle XII.  After her retirement she volunteered every year at Shiloh's Summer Camp, where the kids loved her.

 

She is survived by her son, Michael-John; her brother, Eric; her sister; Terri; nephews, Patrick and Zachary; nieces, Ige and Paige; her great nieces, and nephews; two aunts, and a host of cousins and friends. 

 

A memorial service will be conducted at 3pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive no later than 2:50pm. To attend services virtually please click here.
