I am very thankful to have been married to Harold's son, Rick, for almost 42 years before Rick's passing in 2021. .During that time, Harold, my father-in-law, was steadfast in loving our family through many times of changes and moves throughout his beloved USA. He and Marie traveled to be with our family on many occasions. I am sure he knew how blessed he was as Rick and I were privileged to have eight children together during his lifetime. He even lived to see many of his great grandchildren. It is a treasured memory that he and Marie, his wife of many years, were a demonstration of love for one another, God, their family, and many others they knew and loved. I was enabled by our Savior, Jesus, to work in an Assisted Living for 15 years There, I saw many couples who had been together for 60 to 70 years. They demonstrated faithfulness and commitment. It strengthened my faith in God to see these marriages that had survived through years of joys and hardships. Many of the men were veterans who had served our country and were still living. This reminds me of Harold's longevity and sacrifices throughout his life. Harold was such a great storyteller. He could captivate all listening with his tall tales. Sometimes, you stared in disbelief even as his true stories kept everyone anticipating what would be next. So, I celebrate his passing now to be forever with the Lord and remember Harold with gratefulness!
