Obituary of Gloria Trent Cureton

Gloria Trent Cureton, of Dandridge, Tennessee, passed away on February 16, 2023. Gloria was born on January 20, 1941 to Marshall and Bertha (Austin) Trent in LaFayette, Tennessee. She grew up in Kingsport where she graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School. She attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN.  She then lived in Newport, Tennessee for many years where she raised her daughters and worked at Stokely Van Camp.

She is survived by her daughters, Judi Cureton and Melinda C. Davis (Scott), Grandson, Austin Davis, Sister, Judith Denton, Special Sister-in-law, Mary Francis Hershiser, many cousins, several friends and her beloved orange cat, Jefferson.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at Jefferson Park at Dandridge for the kindness, loving care and friendship so freely given to Gloria. Her family also extends gratitude beyond measure to Brian Johnson, Denise Denton and the staff at Roger’s Cottage who gave her so much love and joy.

Per Gloria’s request, there will be no services. She wished to be remembered and acknowledged as a hardworking, loving mother and grandmother and a loyal friend.
