So very sorry for the loss of Verna. The five of us Wolff kids rode in the same bus as the Mattson kids and they were our closet dear neighbors. Verna was called away much too soon. I remember when my niece was in the hospital with a life threatening broken body and Verna came to visit her and she brought Oscar with, my niece’s dog. What a beautiful, thoughtful gesture that was. My niece was struggling to live again and Verna knew just what she needed - both of them, Verna with her Spirit-filled, infectious smile, and little Oscar. Verna was full of faith, and she was irrefutably wise. Verna brought comfort to all of us who were there. Verna could put anyone at ease with her congenital personality. She was always the bigger person, mature, witty, thoughtful, kind, and loving. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. Thank you God for bringing Verna into my family’s lives. She sure was a gem.

I still can’t believe Verna is gone. I would have thought The Lord would continue His Great Work through her on the earth. There isn’t one person that I know that wasn’t touched by Verna’s impressive faith. The last time I saw Verna was when she came back to North Dakota with her lovely husband Dave a few years ago for a visit. Verna was instrumental in assisting my family through a glorious tragedy over 30 years ago, and for that we will forever be grateful. I miss Verna knowing that she is no longer here, and I know my sister and niece are experiencing intense grief. Dave, Jon, Sarah, family- please except my sincere condolences for this saintly loss.
