Obituary of Dave Whalen

Dave Whalen, age 63, of Church Hill, TN, and formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023, following a brief illness. Dave was known as a fun and loving father, brother, uncle and friend to so many and will be greatly missed by all who love him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Carol Whalen, Sr.

He is survived by his daughter, Megan Whalen of Manhattan, IL; sisters, Kathy Whalen and Joan Parker (Mike); brothers, Marty Whalen (Barb Lynch) and Jim Whalen (Robin); and a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the First Freewill Baptist Church of Church Hill. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 pm with Bro. Jim Whalen officiating. A military graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 presiding.
