Obituary of Maria Elizabeth Pelizzari-Burgin

Maria Elizabeth (Pelizzari) Burgin, age 88, passed away unexpectedly at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN, on June 19, 2023. She was a resident of Signature Health Care of Rogersville, TN, where she enjoyed reading, working puzzles and playing bingo. Her sense of humor and vivacious personality is something everyone will remember about her. She was also a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Kingsport.   

She was preceded in death by her parents, Armando Igeno Pelizzari and Mary Missy Pouns; and siblings, Flora, Gloria, Charles and Eugene.

She is survived by two daughters, Angela Butz of Lafayette, IN, and Linda Pittman of Surgoinsville, TN.

Per Maria’s request there will be no services. It was her wish to be cremated and her remains to be scattered at the Pelizzari Natural Area in Traverse City, MI, where she was born and raised.
