



Obituary of Kay Sims Jackson
Kay Sims Jackson, 68, of Kingsport, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother departed into the presence of the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2023. She was raised in Hiltons, VA by the late John and Mary Sims. She was a longtime member of Orebank Free Will Baptist and was a current member of Bishop’s Memorial Free Will Baptist in Gate City. Kay was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson, Caleb Nathaniel Jackson; granddaughter, Emma Ball; sisters, Jean Osborne, Marie Winkle, Virginia Barker, and Pauline Mullins; brothers, Buddy Sims, Johnny Sims, and Billy Joe Sims.
Survivors include her loving husband of 48 ½ years, Rev. Nathan Jackson; daughter, Amy Ball and husband Josh; son, Brad Jackson and girlfriend, Kaylea Butler; granddaughters, Tessa Ball and Abbey Ball; sister, Janie Rogers and husband J.W.; brothers, Rev. Stanley Sims and wife Margaret and Darrel “Dobber” Sims and wife Dora; along with a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12pm on Friday, June, 30, 2023 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Daryl Hurd and Pastor Robbie Dockery officiating. Music will be provided by family and friends. Pallbearers will be Brian Sims, Tony Dingus, Nick Winkle, Aaron Dingus, Cody Peters, and Miles Cox. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:45am.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Washington County EMS and the staff of Johnson City Medical Center Critical Care team. A very special thank you to Paramedic Will Vannoy; EMT-A Ryan Martin, Nurses Jessica Dwomick and Tammy Scheel for their love and kindness to our family during this time.
