Obituary of Venice C. Yoakley

Gate City, VA – Venice C. Yoakley, 90, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at her home.

She was born on March 30, 1933 in Blackwater, VA, a daughter of the late Dewey and Carrie Ruth (Weatherly) Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter B. “Ronald” Yoakley; several sisters and brothers. Venice attended First Baptist Church of Gate City.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at McKinney-Carter Cemetery, Fraleytown Rd, Duffield, VA with Rev. Jeff DeBoard officiating.

Family and friends planning to attend are asked to assemble at 10:50 am Wednesday at the cemetery.
