Obituary of Donald Landon Wagner

Surrounded by his family, Donald "Don" Wagner, 74, passed away peacefully in his home on February 13, 2018 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born on February 7, 1944 in Kingsport to the late Robert and Leona Vest Wagner. He was an active member and deacon of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He retired from the Eastman Chemical Company after 35 years of service and then retired from the Hawkins County School system. He will forever be remembered by his wife and best friend, Jean Wagner; his three daughters, Amy McFarland (Richard), Becky Lilley, and Cathy Bennett (BJ); brother, Rick Wagner; six grandchildren, Andrew Wagner, Makenzie and Samantha Lilley, Katie and David McFarland, and Alicia Dockery; special friend, Chassy Smiley; great grandchild, Jayleigh Wagner; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15 from 5pm to 7pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 311 Cypress St, Mt. Carmel, TN 37645. A funeral service will follow with Dr. Benny Keck officiating. A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11am. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport at 10am to go in procession.
