Obituary of Jamie Sandidge Tate

JAMIE SANDIDGE TATE Yuma- Jamie Nell Sandidge Tate, 89, of Yuma Community, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday (August 14, 2016) with her family by her side. She was a lifelong resident of the Yuma Community and was a graduate of Cleveland High School in 1944. Mrs. Tate was a stay-at-home mother who enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, and working crossword puzzles. She was faithful in attending church while she was able. Mrs. Tate was a member of Vicars Chapel Baptist Church where she had taught the ladies Sunday School class. She most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Lloyd Tate; her parents, Walker and Alice Sandidge; a great granddaughter, Aubree Tate and her infant great grandson; a brother, Vernon Sandidge (casualty of World War II); her sisters, Emma Winegar, Ann Tate, and Bessie Cox. Jamie Tate is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Darnell and husband C.E., Kathy Livesay and husband Rusty; two sons, Harold Tate and wife Edith and Donnie Tate and wife Freda; eight grandchildren, Gary Darnell and wife Heather, Daniel Tate and wife Jodi, Rebecca Green, Josh Tate and wife Holly, Laura Furcron and husband Thomas, Andy Tate and wife Amanda, Aaron Tate and wife Leslie and Sarah Jones and husband James; fourteen great-grandchildren, Seth and Caleb Darnell, Kaylee and Kyndall Green, Abigail and Kyra Tate, Lucy, Tessa, Willa and Norah Furcron, Emilee and Colton Tate and Briana and Natalie Jones; brother, Bill Sandidge and wife Doris of Church Hill; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Scott County Funeral Home or friends may call at times at the residence. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with her grandsons, Gary Darnell and Andy Tate officiating also Pastor Stephen Caldwell will assist. Music will be provided by her grandsons and a great granddaughter, Abigail Tate. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11 am at Holston View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Darnell, Daniel Tate, Joshua Tate, Thomas Furcron, Andy Tate, Aaron Tate, James Jones, and Duffie Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 am to go in procession. A special thank you goes out to her caregivers, Patricia Bloomer, Grace Jones and Margie Tolley.
