Obituary of Mary Ruth Richardson

Ms. Mary Ruth Richardson, 83, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2018.

She was a member of the Sarepta Baptist Church in Blackwater, VA, but had attended Temple Baptist Church in Kingsport for 14 years after she moved back from Maryland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; K.S. and Ollie Richardson of Blackwater, VA; brothers and sisters, Robert Carl Richardson of Kingsport, Luther Doyle Richardson of Blackwater, VA, Macel Richardson of Kingsport, and Lorene Richardson Garland of Morristown.

She is survived by 2 nieces, Sandra Kaye (Mark) Miller of Houston, TX and Carolyn Denise (Larry) Applegate of Morristown, TN; 2 great nieces; 3 great nephews; 4 great-great nieces; and 1 great–great nephew.

We wish to give special thanks to her cousins, Newana Christian and Cora Mae Roark , as well as, Visiting Angels and other caregivers who helped our family tremendously with her care.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday April 12, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Scott Young, Pastor Shawn Head, and Pastor Glen Hurd officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Friday, April 13, 2018 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:15pm to go in procession to the cemetery.
