Obituary of Nancy Salyer

NANCY  LUCILLE  SALYER

Kingsport-  Nancy Lucille Salyer, 83, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday afternoon (April 19, 2018) at her home.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Lucille was a member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray O. Salyer; her parents, John and Sallie Porter; brothers, Roy Porter and J.S. Porter; a sister, Lois Johnson.

Lucille Salyer is survived by her daughters, Sherry Ramey and Jimmy and Patti McNutt and Jeff; 5 grandchildren, Katie McNutt and Kevin, Tyler Ramey, Kristy McNutt and Landon, Grant Ramey and  Kaitlyn, Kelly McConnell and Brandon; 2 great grandchildren, Lily Mae Ramey and Theo Ray Ramey; sisters, Dorothy Fugate and Joann Harrison; her brother, Orby Porter along with several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday (April 23, 2018) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Orebank Missionary Baptist Church or friends may also call anytime at the residence.  A funeral service will be conducted on Monday (April 23, 2018) at 7 p.m. at Orebank Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor David Smith and Pastor David Foster, officiating.  A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday (April 24, 2018) at 11 a.m. at Grassy Creek Community Cemetery (Nickelsville Community) with Brandon McConnell, Landon Taylor, Kevin Passley,  Tyler Ramey, Grant Ramey, Jeff McNutt, and Jimmy Leach serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orebank Missionary Baptist Church, 5930 Orebank Road, Kingsport, TN 37664.  You can send an online condolence to the family by visiting www.scottcountyfuneralhome.com.  Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Salyer family.
