Obituary of Lucille Martin
Rogersville- Lucille Martin, 89, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord late Thursday night (April 26, 2018) at her daughter’s residence following a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. Lucille was a loving wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, and aunt. She was a member of Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church (Beechcreek Community) where she served as Song Leader, Sunday School Secretary, and sang in the choir for many years. Mrs. Martin also sang in the Mount Carmel Quartet for many years. She loved to put out flowers and especially work in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Martin; her parents, Flora and Mae Morelock; sisters, Leora Morelock, Trula Mullenix, Delorse Dykes and Lynne Smith, Frances Overbay, and Wanda Morelock; brothers, Garfield Morelock and Trammell Morelock; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charlie and Tina Martin.
Lucille Martin is survived by her daughter, Judy Bise and husband, Carlos; her adored grandson, James Bise along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A visitation will take place on Sunday (April 29, 2018) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the daughter, Judy Bise. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday (April 30, 2018) at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church (Beechcreek Community) with Pastor Terry Roberts, officiating. Music will be provided by the Church Choir. A graveside service will follow the funeral at Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rick Mullenix, Perry Dykes, Mike Morelock, Junior Light, Joey Morelock, Randall Compton, and Danny Ward serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends.
