Obituary of Bernard Kyle Johnson

Bernard Kyle Johnson, 70, of Nickelsville went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Bernard was born on September 7, 1947 to the late Homer and Irene Johnson in St. Paul, Virginia. He worked for the Mead Paper and Willamette for over 25 years until he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, David Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Johnson; daughter, Lori Compton (Jon), son, Ricky Johnson; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Farmer; brothers, Carl and Ralph Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11am at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia. All those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50am.
