Obituary of James O. Moore

Kingsport- James O. Moore, 86, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning (May 23, 2018).  He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport.  James retired from AFG Greenland with over 25 years of service.  He belonged to the Local Union # 456.  Following retirement, he loved to work outdoors and especially loved to work on his cars.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sylvia Mays Moore; parents, Charles and Mary Fletcher Moore; brothers, Charles Hubert Moore and Oscar William Moore; sisters, Irene White, Virginia Wampler, Marie Dougherty, Anna Lou Churchwell, and Martha Moore.

James O. Moore is survived by his son, Duane Moore; a sister, Leola Larkin along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday (May 29, 2018) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the sister, Leola Larkin.  A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday (May 29, 2018) at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles Buckner, officiating.  A graveside service will take place on Wednesday (May 30, 2018) at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Phil Larkin and Randy Moore will serve as honorary pallbearers and Gary Larkin, David Moore, Mark Moore, and David Churchwell serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Tri-Cities, 301 Louis Street #304, Kingsport, TN 37660.
