Obituary of Wanda Lou Moore Carter

Wanda Moore Carter, age 76, of Kingsport, TN, and originally of Fort Blackmore, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2024. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Kingsport. She enjoyed being with her great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Carter; parents, Roy and Pearlie Moore; and brothers, James Moore and Bill Flanary.

She is survived by her sisters, Linda Carter (Ted), Shirley Nickels and Patricia Lane; brother, Emmit “Bud” Moore; niece, Donna Edens; nephews, Jeff Carter (Darlene) and Russell Carter (Trisha); several great nieces and great nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City, VA. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Bro. Raymond Summey and Bro. James Mann officiating. Interment will follow at Morrison Cemetery in Rye Cove, VA.
