Obituary of Kenneth "Ken" Perry

Kenneth (Ken) was born in Atlanta, Georgia May 27, 1932 to Paul and Hilda Perry.  After

living in Richmond, Virginia during Ken’s Elementary School years, the family moved to Johnson

City, Tennessee where Ken graduated from Science Hill High School in 1950.

Ken received his Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee in 1957

and received the title of ‘husband’ soon after meeting Christina Lensgraf.  After seeing this

pretty blonde in class, he knew she was going to be someone very special in his life.  They

married in 1957 and remained sweethearts throughout their 58 years of marriage.

Ken and Christina made their home in Kingsport, Tennessee where Ken spent the next 35

years working at Tennessee Eastman Co. as a research chemist.  He retired in 1987 and

pursued his love of photography.

Ken and Christina opened a wedding and portrait studio in their home.  The photographs

they took in the following 30 years hang in many homes and offices in the Tri-Cities area.  Both

Ken and Christina received their Master’s Degree in photography and were certified by the

Professional Photographer’s Association.

They were blessed with four sons, Steven, David, Christopher and Timothy Perry.  After

raising their family, they combined their love of adventure and photography and traveled

extensively in the United States and Europe.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Hilda Perry, and by his cherished

wife, Christina.  He is survived by his four sons and their wives:  Steven and

Sara Perry, David and Heather Perry, Christopher and Dawn Perry and Timothy Perry.  He is also

survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ken loved the Lord and was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for many

years. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 6:30 pm at
