Obituary of Ricky Charles Maultbay

Ricky Charles Maultbay, 66, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord (Thursday December 25th, 2014) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Ricky had a love of life and people and was known for always having a smile on his face. He enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, and family and working in the yard or riding his motorcycle. His loving granddaughter, Addyson Maultbay, has always been the light of his life. He always called her "poppy's little angel". Rick proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Vietnam Vets of America and a faithful member of the Kingsport Masonic Lodge #688. Rick retired from Eastman Chemical Company after 31 years of service. He has since worked for BAE since 2008, in the lab. Rick has always thought of others before thinking of himself. His mom says she will always remember him saying each day, I love you mom and dad. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Curly" Maultbay and two daughters, Misty and Shawna Maultbay. He is survived by his loving wife and the one who has made his life whole, Annette Sweeney Maultbay; son, Shane Maultbay and daughter, Addyson; mother, Wilma Maultbay; sisters, Beth Cole and husband Mike, Hilton Head, SC and Diane Jennings and husband David, Weber City; brother, Tim Maultbay and wife Christy, Kpt; several nieces and nephews; father in law, Temmens Sweeney; very special sister in law, Darlene Reed. The family will receive friends from 4 till 7pm Sunday (December 28th, 2014) at Scott County Funeral Home or anytime at the home of his mother.
