Obituary of Elijah Yates-Ahmad

Elijah Madden Yates- Ahmad 22, of Kingsport departed this life on June 21, 2018. He was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas and moved to Kingsport in 2005. Eli graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School in 2013 and attended U.T. at Chattanooga. He worked as a medical assistant at Regional Kidney Care. Eli was a talented musician who wrote and played his own music, avid hiker, and fierce cancer survivor. He was a devoted son, brother, and special friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his parents, Abrar and Shannon Ahmad; sister, Sophie Ahmad; brother, Taj Ahmad; grandmother, Rebecca Monroe; grandfather, Herbert Yates; special aunt and uncle, Jane and Bill Heaston; special friend, Markalene Earles; along with a host of friends and family both here and abroad.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A celebration of life service will follow in the chapel.
Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Johnson City, TN with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at 871 N. Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN, 37909.
