Rev. Tommy Williams

Obituary of Rev. Tommy Lee Williams

2 Timothy 4:7-8

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Rev. Tommy Lee Williams, age 73, of Church Hill, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019, at his residence after an extended illness.

Tommy was a resident of Church Hill. He was the son of the late Walt and Floy Mable Williams. He served in the U S Army stationed in Germany.

Tommy was one of the charter members of the peace makers club, then several years after he helped charter the peace makers club, he met the real peace maker. His life was forever changed. He was a great witness and had a wonderful testimony of how the Lord turned his life around.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by one sister, Myra Elizabeth “Beth” Larkins; step-son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lindsay Trent.

Survivors include his wife of twenty five years, Marianne Williams; two sisters, Sharon Goforth and Janet Roberts and her husband John; one brother, Mark Williams and his wife Karen; grandchildren, Andrew and Allison Trent; several nieces and nephews.

There no words to say how much he loved his grandchildren, Andrew and Allison Trent. He was a wonderful papaw, his face lit up when he got to spend time with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family of Rev. Tommy Lee Williams will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, October 22, 2019, in the Bethel Apostolic Church. The funeral service will follow at 7 pm with Rick Collins, Lynn Keys and Donnie Tipton officiating. Music will be provided by Andrew and Allison Trent, Jeff Pierson and Bethel Church. The graveside committal service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, in the Church Hill Memory Gardens with honors conducted by American Legion Hammond post #3/265. Active pallbearers will be Andrew Trent, Eric Bailey, Nikki Larkins, Zane Larkins, Jason Wolfe and Ken Dye. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Williams, John Roberts, Larry Nelson, Timothy Nelson and Richard Cleek. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am Wednesday.
