Obituary of Roger Morris Gardner

Kingsport – Roger Morris Gardner, 53 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Stansel and Alice Gardner and Alva and Ruth Sims; his uncle, Ronald Sims; aunt, Emma Ruth Salyers; cousin, David Riner.

Roger is survived by his parents, Morris Gardner of Gate City; mother, Janice Ballentine and husband Wayne of Joplin, MO; brothers, Ricky Gardner and wife Carla of Weber City and Greg Gardner and wife Shelia of Joplin, MO; sons, Daniel Gardner of Elizabethton and Zachary Gardner of Kingsport; daughter, Michelle Gardner of Elizabethton; 7 grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Gardners Cemetery in Hiltons. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m. Pallbearers will be Ned Morrell, Alden Carty, Randy Estepp, Adam Gardner, Rob Weatherly and Ronnie Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Morrell and Jordan Gardner.

The family would like to thank our aunt, Karen Austin for all her help during Roger’s illness.
