Obituary of Stephen C. Lawson
STEPHEN C. LAWSON
Mount Carmel- Stephen C. Lawson, 79, of Mount Carmel, was carried away by angels on Sunday night (July 8, 2018) at his home following a lengthy illness. He was a graduate of Hancock County High School and retired from Holston Defense as a Maintenance Mechanic. Steve was a talented and skilled craftsman who built many homes and kitchen cabinets. He especially enjoyed working on hot-rods and attending car shows. Mr. Lawson truly loved his grandchildren and his entire family. He also had a special place for his beloved pets. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kyle and Carrie Lawson; a grandson, Samuel Bell; his brother, Ray Lawson; father-in-law, Robert Salyer; nephew, Brian Phillips; a brother-in-law, Bobby Jarrett.
Stephen C. Lawson is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Anita Lawson; his children, Teressa Dobbs and husband, Mark, Tina Bell, Travis Lawson and Aleshia Parker; grandchildren, Joy McLain, Dustin Dobbs, Harrison Bell, Hillary Powell, Kyle Lawson, Ava Boggs; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Phillips; his special cousin, Aubry Price along with many special friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday (July 11, 2018) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill or friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday (July 11, 2018) at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Josh Kilbourne, officiating. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday (July 12, 2018) at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Donnie Dishner, Scott Salyer, Gary Salyer, Robbie Salyer, Ronnie Harkleroad, and Greg Lewis serving as pallbearers. Bill Parker, Roy Anderson, Harold Wolfe, and Mack Lane will serve as honorary pallbearers.
