Obituary of Dewey Curtis Spivey
Kingsport- Dewey Curtis Spivey went to be with his Lord on Monday morning, July 30, 2018.
Curtis enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding around visiting family & friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Jo Spivey; parents, Dewey and Lillian Marie (Williams) Spivey; siblings, Jean Mullins, Helen Carter, Robert Spivey; precious grandchildren, Tucker Jones and Tiffany Jones.
Curtis is survived by his daughters, Tina Jones (David), Donna Cox (Dwain), Melissa Jones (Chris), Wendy Fields (Gregory); grandchildren, Dustin Owens, Tyler Jones, Kelly Owens (Casey), Heath Owens (Haley), James Jones (Christi), Cheyenne Mullins, Joshua Owens, Katie Jones, Kerri Jones, Chayna Mullins, Luke Mullins, Landon Fields; great-grandchildren, Karleigh Jones, Jayce Owens, Emma Owens, Isaiah Jones, Zoey Owens, Robbie Jones; brothers, William Charles Spivey, Harlan Spivey; sisters, Ellen Smith, Patsy Brannon and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday (August 1, 2018) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Carter Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the daughter, Tina Jones. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday (August 2, 2018) at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jon Rogers and Rev. David White, officiating. A military graveside conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/#265 will follow the funeral at Oak Hill Cemetery with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. Robert Carter will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
