Obituary of Patsy Weatherly Steffey

PATSY  (WEATHERLY)  STEFFEY

Kingsport-  Patsy Weatherly Steffey, 76, of Kingsport, was escorted to be with Jesus on Monday (September 3, 2018) at Wexford House with her loving family and friends by her side.  She retired from Sullivan County School System (Food Service) following 41 years of service.  Patsy was a very talented person who enjoyed doll making, ceramics, painting beautiful pictures, gardening, but most of all, she enjoyed being with her family and special friends.  While being in the nursing home, she enjoyed going room to room witnessing about God and his plan of salvation.  She was preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Steffey, Jr.; parents, Bill & Erma Weatherly; special brother-in-law, Delno Smith; special sisters-in-law, Cathy Weatherly, Lois Pearcy, and Betty Ewing along with a special nephew, Dennis Steffey.

Patsy Steffey is survived by her two daughters, Dee Dee Steffey Elicky, Deneen Steffey Phillips and husband, Larry; a son, Devon Steffey and wife, Lynn; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Smith, Helen Collier and husband, Mike, Carolyn Lawson and husband, Anthony; brothers, Doug Weatherly and wife, Kay, Darrell Weatherly and wife, Kathy, Don Weatherly and wife, Donna, Danny Weatherly and wife, Trish; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Herbert and Sherol Harrington and Igeary Pearcy.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday (September 5, 2018) at Apostolic Gospel Church, 1780 Granby Road in Kingsport.  A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Wednesday (September 5, 2018) at the church with Rev. Herbert Harrington and Rev. Chris Cody, officiating.  Music will be provided by Igeary Pearcy and Justin Carter.  A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday (September 6, 2018) at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 1 p.m. with Carl Rogers, Larry Rogers, Jonathan Elicky, Justin Carter, Larry Phillips, Alex Steffey, Robbie Weatherly, and Chris Weatherly serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Church, Nathaniel McMurray, and Micah Lawson.
