Obituary of Eva Mae Dolan Simpson

Eva D. Simpson, age 82, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 22, 2018 at her home. She was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church and had retired from The Jewel Box after 20+ years of service. Eva was known for a captivating smile; when she would smile she lit up the room and filled the hearts of those around her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Dolan; sisters, Elizabeth Carroll and Daisy McMurray; and brothers, Clyde and David Dolan.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Clarence Simpson; 4 children, Joretta Morgan (Rusty), Greg Harvey, Les Simpson and Lori Simpson; 4 grandchildren, Heather Castle, Chris Harvey (Chelsea), Brittany Morgan and Ashley Barnette; sisters, Merle McMurray and Paulette Poli; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Amedysis Home Health and Hospice Care for their love and support for Eva during her time of declining health.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Pastor Ronnie Owens officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at McPheeter’s Bend Cemetery in Church Hill. All those wishing to go in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association located at 2020 Meadowview Pkwy #100 Kingsport, TN 37660.
