Obituary of Betty Fay Lane

Betty Fay Lane, 84, of Weber City went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

 

Betty was born on March 2, 1934 in Scott County, Virginia to the late Earl and Alice Lane. She loved enjoying nature and animals, especially her cats and birds. She worked as a house keeper for many years. Betty was an amazing cook and loved to cook for her family who she loved and adored.

 

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, James D. Lane; two infant brothers; brother in-law, Denver T. Bishop; and niece, Doris Jones. 

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Robin Lane; grandson, Bruce Lee Sexton; granddaughter, Wendy Brooke Gibson Barrett and husband Tim; great grandson, Ethan Edward Gibson; sister, Pauline “Sis” Bishop; brother, Glenn “Elmo” Lane and wife Tammy; and several nieces and nephews.

 

A graveside service will be at 1pm held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Holston View Cemetery with Rev. Tim Barrett and Rev. Tim Bellamy officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45pm.

 

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Nova Health Care for all their help and support with Ms. Lane and also to the staff of the ER at Holston Valley for their care.
