MARY  (CHRIS)  BROOKS

Kingsport- Mary (Chris) Brooks, 73, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning (March 20, 2019) following a lengthy illness.  She was a lifelong resident of this area.  Mary (Chris) made sure she always provided for her children and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She loved to spend time outdoors. Chris was talented in making crafts and collecting antiques.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Manis; brothers, Paul Hodges, Buck Hodges, and Richard Manis; a sister-in-law, Debbie Manis.

Mary (Chris) Brooks is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ford and husband, Dwight; her son, Scott Calton and wife, Angela; grandchildren, Bon Scott, Shon Scott, Alex Ford, Makinleigh Calton, and Braylee Calton; sisters, Lucille Snapp and husband, Howard, Shirley Burchard; brothers, Jimmy Manis, Kenneth (Hootie) Manis and wife, Jane; sisters-in-law, Frances Hodges and Linda Hodges along with several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday (March 22, 2019) from 12 noon until 2 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the son, Scott Calton, 241 Park Ridge Court in Kingsport .  A funeral service will be conducted on Friday (March 22, 2019) at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Phil Kidd, officiating.  A graveside service will follow the funeral service on Friday (March 22, 2019) at Oak Hill Cemetery with Dwight Ford, Shon Scott, Alex Ford, Kenneth Manis, Jonathan Byrd, and Josh Byrd serving as pallbearers.  You can send an online condolence to the family by visiting www.cartertrent.com.  Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Brooks family.
