Obituary of Eddie Forbes

EDDIE  FORBES

Kingsport-  Edward (Eddie) Forbes, 71, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning (May 29, 2019) at his home with his loving family by his side.  He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport.  Eddie retired from Eastman Chemical Company following 40 years of service.  He was a very active member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church.  Mr. Forbes was an avid fisherman and especially loved to help people.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Agnes Forbes; a sister, Priscilla Dockery; father-in-law, John Henry.

Eddie Forbes is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Brenda Forbes; his daughter, Bethia Forbes Laughlin; a great granddaughter of the home, Arabella; two granddaughters, Jessica and Chyanne Laughlin; seven additional great grandchildren, Deirra, Paisley, Zara, Julius, Isaiah, Ladaya, and Jakkcee; sister, Pam Britton and a special brother-in-law, Mike Britton; a brother, Sonny Forbes and wife, Sherry; mother-in-law, Ruth Henry; brother-in-law, Phil Henry and wife, Jackie; several nieces, nephews, special friends, and his four legged buddy, “Annie”.  A special thank you goes out to Sharon and Hunter Perkins, Heather and Jeff Watts, Amedisys Hospice for the special care given during his illness.

A visitation will be held on Saturday (June 1, 2019) from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Rock Springs United Methodist Church.  A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon on Saturday (June 1, 2019) at Rock Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronnie Ledford and Rev. Carol Martin, officiating.  A graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA  30047.  You can send an online condolence to the family by visiting www.cartertrent.com.  Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Forbes family.
