I remember Norris from my days of growing up in Rawhide at Keokee. We lived on the hill above and across the road from his house. It was great to read of him as a dedicated Fireman as well as, a member of his local community church. "Our prayers of comfort go up for the family and friends. Pastor Bruce &Annette Johnson Keokee, Va.

Words can not express the heartbreak my family and I feel over losing this wonderful man. We loved him with all our hearts. I remember one of my grandchildren used to call him Uncle Papaw. He wasn't sure what part he played in our family so that's the name he came up for him. He sure will be missed! Rest in peace! You'll never be forgotten!

Rest in peace brother. MY sorrow for your loss to personal family, but also your firefighter brothers. My dad Bill Adams often spoke of his brothers at KFD. If I had a penny for each ft of hose I helped pull, I'd be filthy rich. Most citizens have no idea of what its like to grow up or be the wife of a firefighter and the sacrifice they make especially in the older days, the chances taken to save a life or property. My dad passed in 1991, but I continued to stay in contact, with lots of my old friends.,with your passing and J D's that's the loss of 2 good men. I send my best to your family and hope they give appreciate your life. I hope they will forgive my gest of a friend. Once again REST IN PEACE. Your friend

Norris was much more than an uncle to my cousins and me. He was our home whenever we needed anything. Each of us knew we were his favorite. I will never feel as at home as I did sitting on his front porch with him,my husband Richard and Presley talking about nothing and everything. I thought those days would never end. Our children and their children have lost their favorite, uncle Norris.
