The Vermillion and Blessing Families we would like to express our deepest sympathies! Ruby was a loved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother! I had the pleasure of getting to know her many years ago and she was a great hostess and cook! It was a pleasure getting to know Ruby. And I can only imagine the heartache you are feeling, but take heart in knowing she truly is in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. May God bless you guys during this trying time.

I remember the many nights and weekends especially in the Summer staying overnight & playing with Roy Allen & Jeff on the farm. Ruby was a wonderful second Mom & was always there to help when needed. She will be greatly missed.

Aunt Ruby was such a sweet, loving, but tough lady. I remember going on vacation to the beach with my Mom (Ruby's sister) and Dad and Ruby & Roy, Trina, Jeff and Roy Allen. She had such a sweet, precious spirit. I know that she is in Heaven with all of Heaven rejoicing. Wouldn't it be wonderful to hear her voice singing with that heavely choir. I appreciate having been her niece and having known her. If we could all be such a good Christian woman.

With so many memories of granny, a lot of my favorites involve being in the kitchen. I decorated my first cake with her. We would stay up late to create something special for one of the family’s birthday. I learned so much from her in the kitchen. There’s certain things that you can substitute when you look to find out you’re out of cream, or milk, baking soda, and eggs. For example, if you’re making some buttercream and open the fridge and realize the cream is gone, you can substitute with what you have—maybe some milk. It won’t be as good—not as smooth, not as rich, not as sweet, but people are still gonna enjoy that cake and be happy that you made it.
I’m happy that I had my granny; I’m sad that she’s gone. She was the best—no substitutes. But what are we going to substitute with now that she’s gone? We are gonna remember what she’s taught us and live by it—love by it, like she did. We are gonna fill that table, gathered with our loved ones—feeding their hearts just as much as their bodies. Granny taught me a lot in that kitchen—not just about cooking—about love, and life, and family.

My beautiful Momma inside and out. I was so blessed to be raised by her and know the Good Lord has blessed me beyond measure. My heart is so broken and each day I wonder how am I gonna make it without her. Oh how I miss her. Holidays will never be the same without her presence and touch. I’m gonna try to live my life in a way that honors her and all she’s done for me.

I was one of Ruby’s Nurses at dialysis . She was always a joy to take care of. A trooper . She always smiled and would sit and crochet or knit while on treatment . She held a special place in the hearts of many of the staff . She will be missed. As her last name was blessing .. she was a special blessing to many . My sympathy to the family .
