Hugh Kyle, it was an honor knowing you, working with you and having you as a friend. I will never forget hunting with you and your boys at the cabin in Cataract and at McCoy. Mostly, I will forever be sorry I didn’t make it out by you to crack that bottle of Crown Royal and to see you again. Take care my Friend. P.S. Still have my “ Sit n Bull” hat

My father Frank Upright always counted Hugh as a friend and brother from Southport Lodge - he appreciated his support of the community as a sheriff and as a leader. May the rest of the family find peace in this time of sorrow, but happiness knowing of the wonderful life he had and the strength he gave to others.
Sincerely,
Randy Upright

To Hugh’s family please know how much Hugh helped me during my early years with Twin Lakes PD. I always felt my 6 was covered when he worked the west end of the county and respected him not only as a deputy but a person. So much wisdom and maturity. I was shocked to hear of his passing, just shocked.
Salute to Hugh, prayers to the family. Thank you for allowing me to be a small piece of his life.

I will always have memories of Unk Hugh. He was such a profound man, so honest, respected and a man of all mans. We were close in age and I can remember us playing in the yard with my sisters and cousins. Will always love you.

Hugh was a great partner and loyal friend who always had your back. With a great sense of humor whenever we rode together he was "rolling' with the Flo". I'm proud to have called him a partner.
