Obituary of Carl A. Powell

Carl A. Powell, 77, of Kingsport, TN, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center, joining his beloved wife Patty whom he dearly missed.

He was born in Kingsport, TN on February 28, 1946, a son of the late Ralph Arnie Powell and Dora Evaline (Castle) Powell. In addition to his wife and his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Don Powell and Ed Powell.

Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for 34 years at the Sullivan County Printing Department where he retired as a supervisor.

Surviving are his sons, Carl Powell, Jr. and John Powell; 6 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Sue, Joyce and Shirley; 3 brothers, Ronnie Powell, Phillip Powell and Larry Powell; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport, TN.
