Obituary of Thomas Smith

Roy T. “Thomas” Smith of Church Hill, TN, passed away in Kingsport on September 16, 2023, at the age of 61. He was surrounded by his loving wife, family, and friends. He was a native of Hawkins County and was born and raised in Church Hill, TN. He was a graduate of Church Hill High School and retired from running his own company Mountain Communications. Thomas was saved and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed his Harley, truck, moonshine community and spending time with his wife and family.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Bradley Smith; parents, Kyle and Addie “Sis” Smith; and sister, Kathy Vaughn.

He leaves behind the love of his life, wife, Tammy Smith; son, Kevin Smith (Kelli); stepchildren, Khelsea Thacker (Hunter) and Logan Thacker (Missy); grandchild, Kaiden; sister, Karen Catron (Marty); nieces, Kristi Catron, and Laura Vaughn; nephew, Dean Catron; brother-in-law, David Vaughn; and special friends, Glen Stapleton, Doug Criswell, an Robert Henley.

A memorial service will be held for Thomas at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Christians Bend First Baptist Church with Rev. William Truman officiating.
