Obituary of Wanda McClure Ragsdale

Wanda McClure Ragsdale, age 83, of Kingsport, went home to the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 23, 2023. She was a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church in Kingsport and was a loyal and faithful prayer warrior for her Lord. She was a retiree of Eastman Chemical Company where she worked as a security officer. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother and great aunt to all of her loved ones. She was known for saying “I love you and I always will.”

She was preceded in death by her late husband of 67 years, Jack Ragsdale; parents, Clay and Pearl McClure; and special friend, Fred Butterfield.

She is survived by her son, Bruce Ragsdale; daughter, Joyce Skelton (Wes); special cousins, Devota Joyce Gaddy and Patty Morgan; special caregiver, Vondi Harris; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of NHC Healthcare for their love and support for Wanda.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wade Childress officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Gardens.
