Obituary of Gladys Burke Stout

Gladys Burke Stout, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 6, 2023, at her home following a period of declining health. She was born February 22, 1944, to the late Willie J. Burke and Mary Ann (Moore) Burke. Gladys loved spending time with her family, spoiling her great grandchildren, and taking care of her cat, Tabby.

In addition to her parents, Gladys, was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ted Stout; brother, Bill Burke.

Survivors include two daughters, Kim Stewart and husband Jeff, Tammy McAninch and husband Stoney; one son, Lonnie Stout and wife Tracie; eight grandchildren, Chase Stewart, Matt Goins, Jordan Stout, Michael Goins, Hannah Shephard, Haylee Deal, Dylan Stout, and Quinn Brooks; eleven great-grandchildren, Ellie, Lexy, Jadon, Collin, Sophia, Everett, Raylyn, JJ, Delaney, Kip, and Delilah; and brother, James Burke and wife Dagmar.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the special caregivers that helped her as she made her journey to her heavenly home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Church Hill Memory Gardens. All those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
