Obituary of Linda Gayle Akard

Linda Gayle Akard, 82, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. She was born on August 23, 1941 to the late John and Lena Akard. She was a devoted member of First Broad Street UMC where she worked in the office for 10 years. Linda enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially her best friend Judy King. She was a loving sister and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Akard and her best friend, Judy King.

Survivors include her sister, Sue Humbert and husband Randy; cousin, Wanda Campbell and husband Charles; along with a host of friends and extended family.

A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport with Rev. Jack Weikel officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:50pm.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Church Hill Post Acute and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care.
