Obituary of Claythe Moore

Claythe Moore the daughter of Carl Kell and Ollie Bell Williams, born December 19, 1941, passed peacefully Friday, December 22nd.

Claythe was a loving mother, wife, mamaw, daughter, sister, Aunt, friend and Mommy 2 to many. Claythe dedicated most of her life loving and being Mommy 2 to the many kids she cared for. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the love of her life and husband Tommy, sister, Bennie Joyce, brothers, Garney and Harper Williams, and fur grand baby Chesney.

Those left to cherish her memory are son, Gary Moore (Levita), daughter, Kim Moore, grandsons, Blane, Devin and Philip; sisters, Jane Burke (David), Phyllis Spivey (Larry), and Brinda Fry; bonus children, Jack McNutt (Tina), Crystal Simpson (Travis), Sonja Dickerson (Jeff), lifelong friend Linda Henry; many nieces and nephews, and her fur grand babies Daisy Mae and Coco.

The family would like to thank David Franzus, MD and staff, The Villages at Allendale and Church Hill Rehabilitation for their love and care.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Scott County Funeral Home and anytime at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Levita Haynes-Moore. Memorial services will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry Spivey and Pastor Jerry Hensley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gate City VA Civitan Club, P.O. Box 1264, Gate City, VA 24251.

Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
