Obituary of Pansy Ellen Hickman

Kingsport – Pansy Ellen Hickman, 87 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Wexford House. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Pansy was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Harvey Chapman and Dora Ellen Price Chapman; her brothers, Clyde, Charlie, Ray, Bobby and Earl.

Pansy is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles Lloyd Hickman; daughter, Teresa (Chuck) Turner; granddaughters, Amanda (Ryan) Brooks and Cyerra (Mitch) Bedingfield; great-granddaughters, Madisyn Brooks and Brynlee Bedingfield great-grandson, Dylan Brooks; sister-in-law, Coleen Chapman; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport.

A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.

An entombment committal service will be held at 12 pm on Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:45 am.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pansy’s granddaughter and grandson, Amanda and Ryan for all the years of special care given to their grandmother. As well, a special thank you to the staff at Wexford House for the exceptional care that was given and to Pleasant View Baptist Church for all the visits and prayers.
